Dear Blues & Jazz Lover,
The New York Blues & Jazz Society is celebrating eight years of dedication to the Tri-State areas blues and jazz scene!
Blues/Jazz societies are not for profit organizations that are built on the HARD work of individuals, striving to help pay back the artistic community that is responsible for the music that we hear today. That's why these Societies exist and that's why we need YOUR help and support!
Our volunteer Board Members spend many hours each week collecting and coordinating information and creating events. We have published several hundred, weekly Eblues newsletters keeping the public informed of the scene, locally and nationally. Through our website, we've maintained the #1 constant source of information in the form of weekly gig picks, calendar, clubs and jam listings, reviews, and all the current news. In the last year alone the NYBJS has produced ten separate fundraisers, concerts and or awards events featuring local, national and international artist, with such artists as Hubert Sumlin, Big Luther Kent, Monica Parker, Bernard "Pretty" Purdy, Reuben Wilson and Melvin Sparks.
Do you want to see the blues and jazz survive? The only way to keep this music going is to GET THE WORD OUT! The way to do that is to JOIN THE SOCIETY. We exist primarily on memberships.
